The neck is composed of seven bones known as vertebrae. There are shock-absorbing discs between these vertebrae. The outer layer of these discs is tough and fibrous, and the core is gel-like. Cervical Spondylosis is caused by deterioration of the vertebrae and discs in the neck. As we get older, our discs thin out and the edges of our vertebrae can become rough. These changes can irritate the surrounding muscles, ligaments, and nerves. This results in Cervical Spondylosis.
